For many people, Memorial Day Weekend includes a visit to the cemetery. It's John Peterson's mission to make sure those cemeteries are ready for the holiday. Peterson is the creator and owner of the Twin Cities business Grave Groomers. Some families hire Peterson to tend to graves of recently deceased loved ones. Others want him to care for the burial sites of those who passed away long ago.

North Minneapolis is still reeling from the tornado that struck on Sunday, May 22, 2011, that killed one person, injured 33 others, downed power lines and damaged homes. On Monday, the slow process of assessing damage and cleanup began.

Some 2,400 members of the Minnesota National Guard are deploying to the Middle East over the next several weeks. The state's official departure ceremony for those soldiers, members of the Guard's Red Bulls team, was held Sunday at Fort Snelling. Hundreds of people came to bid them farewell.

Twins Hall of Famer Harmon Killebrew died Tuesday, May 17, 2011 in Scottsdale, Ariz. after battling esophageal cancer. Killebrew was a top power hitter in the 1960s and he helped the fledgling Twins put down roots in a place that until 1961, never had major league ball.
