Now, on Target (Center)
There's been a lot of attention on the Vikings stadium, and now the other half of that stadium deal -- the renovation of Target Center -- is about to get off the ground. The city announced today it was setting up the "implementation committee" that will guide the planned $135 million renovation of the city-owned basketball arena.
Wisconsin-based Trek dumps Armstrong
The Waterloo-based company had voiced its support for Armstrong in August, praising him for his "remarkable contributions to the sport of cycling and the fight against cancer."

The city of St. Paul has decided it's going to put a big chunk of the $54 million Lowertown ballpark project out for bid, after a lawsuit challenged the decision by the administration of Mayor Chris Coleman to give the building work to Ryan Construction.
Nike breaks with Armstrong
Nike has severed ties with famed cyclist Lance Armstrong, citing insurmountable evidence that he participated in doping and misled the company about those activities for more than a decade. The clothing and footwear company said Wednesday that it was terminating Armstrong's contract "with great sadness."
Armstrong out as Livestrong chairman
The move came a week after the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency released a massive report detailing allegations of widespread doping by Armstrong and his teams when he won the Tour de France seven consecutive times from 1999 to 2005.

Dallas-based HKS Inc. beat out four other competitors to design the new Vikings stadium. At a public meeting on October 15 they released more of their proposed stadium designs. The Vikings and the architectural firm hope to unveil a final design in January or February.

The "Meet the Architect" gathering at the Minneapolis Convention Center yesterday featured some new Vikings stadium renderings from HKS. The headline: they weren't kidding with the transparent roof or the Gehry-esque "ribbon roof."
