Six years after Sept. 11, Osama bin Laden is still at large. And whether or not he is still capable of organizing attacks on the United States, he remains a powerful symbol of terrorism and anti-Americanism.

In a recent speech in St. Paul, Duke University Islam scholar Bruce Lawrence analyzed bin Laden's motives.
