Christopher & Banks large clothing donation mostly unwearable

Christopher and Banks donated 30,000 clothing items to flood victims in Rushford Village, Minn. Half of the donation was supposed to help people in the Rushford area, while the other half was destined for Gays Mill, Wis.

Rushford Village City Clerk Judy Graham says the delivery came yesterday , and 95% of the clothing is completely unwearable. She says all of the clothes have at least small holes in them, including sweaters with long slices down the back and shirts with squares cut out of them.

"It's just such nice clothing, it's just such a waste. And you just kind of feel then, it's not a very charitable thing to do to say we're going to give you these things, but we're going to put all these holes in them," says Graham.

Graham says only a couple thousand items are salvageable. She says residents will repair the items with small holes, and use some of the cloth for quilting.

The company hasn't been in contact with the village yet or returned calls seeking comment.
