DFL Senate candidate Al Franken is scheduled to make an appearance this week on the Late Show with David Letterman.
Franken spokesman Andy Barr said the candidate will be on the Letterman show Tuesday night. Barr said Franken is fitting in the Letterman appearance around some fund raising events outside of Minnesota this week.
Barr said being on with Letterman should help attract campaign contributions as the end of first quarter fund raising period draws near.
"If Al can say the name of the website it will help drive people to the site to see what we've been doing and we hope make the choice to invest in our campaign before the fund raising deadline of March 31st," Barr said.
Franken and Jack Nelson-Pallmeyer are seeking the DFL party endorsement to run against Republican Senator Norm Coleman this fall.
"Progressives all over Minnesota and all across the country have responded to our call to help out so far and we're hoping that by letting them know what we've accomplished so far and where we hope to go next that they're either renew their investment or sign on," Barr said.
