Republican John McCain is welcoming Democrat Barack Obama to the fall campaign for the White House with a blistering attack on his judgment.

Addressing supporters in suburban New Orleans, the presumptive GOP nominee faulted Obama in several areas.

McCain says Americans ought to be concerned about the judgment of a candidate who says he's ready to talk with tyrants without preconditions -- but who hasn't traveled to Iraq to see the progress being made there.

And on the subject of Iraq, McCain accuses Obama of voting to deny funds to U.S. soldiers.

McCain is also seeking to deflect Obama's frequent claim that the Republican is "running for President Bush's third term."

McCain says he has "a long record of bipartisan problem-solving," and says he's put this country before "any president," "any party" and "any special interest."

McCain wrapped up the GOP nomination in March.
