Family owned florist and garden center Bachman's Inc. has named Dale Bachman as its new CEO after the previous top executive was killed in Beijing during the Olympics. Former Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Todd Bachman was with his wife and daughter when they were stabbed at a tourist attraction August 9th, apparently at random. Their attacker killed himself.
Todd Bachman died and his wife was seriously hurt, but their adult daughter was unharmed. On Tuesday, wife Barbara Bachman's condition was upgraded to "good" at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester.
Dale Bachman has been president of the company since 1992 and is Todd Bachman's second cousin. Paul Bachman was promoted from vice president of marketing and operations to president. He's a first cousin to Todd Bachman.
