Organizers say Minnesota's 150th birthday celebration has been a solid success.
A special commission has been organizing events throughout the year to raise awareness of the state's history and contributions.
Jane Leonard with the Sesquicentennial Commission said the celebration is winding down, although a few events will be offered in the coming weeks.
"The 'Old Minnesota: Song of the North Star,' which was the show at the State Fair that was wildly popular, is doing a couple of shows around Minnesota. They'll be in Mankato, Red Wing, Glenwood throughout October and November," Leonard said.
Leonard said the commission will visit with state lawmakers in January to review the celebration and thank them for financing the many events.
The commission has been putting some pieces of Minnesota away for posterity.
