Travel writer Rick Steves recently spent 10 days in Iran taping his new special, which airs on PBS.
The trip is a departure for Steves, who most often tapes in Europe. He employs 80 people at his Europe Through the Back Door headquarters in Edmonds where he produces 30 guidebooks on European travel, a popular travel series on public television, and a weekly column syndicated by the Chicago Tribune.
