James Hersch has done the coffeehouse circuit. He's done house concerts and sold handfuls of records. He's done the folk festival thing. But with the audiences changing and listeners' buying habits shifting, he's decided to go a different direction with "The 52 Song Project."

January 1st, Hersch started writing with the goal of writing one song every week for one year. On his Web site, he encourages listeners to comment and even help in the writing.

About half-way through the project, James Hersch stopped into the Radio Heartland studio to chat with Dale Connelly.

Songs performed: "After the Snow" and "Tomorrows"
