A 6 year-old boy who was involved in a drowning accident in New Brighton on Wednesday has died, police said.
Kyarke Lah, of St. Paul, was pulled out of Long Lake by lifeguards at about 2:30 p.m., said Holli Drinkwine, spokeswoman for the Ramsey County Sheriff's Office.
Ramsey County Sheriff's Water Patrol and Allina Paramedics began administering CPR to Kyarke, but the boy was unresponsive, police said.
Kyarke was transported to Regions Hospital and later transferred to Gillette Children's Specialty Healthcare in St. Paul, where he died overnight.
The boy was at the beach as part of a summer school program run by the Roseville Public Schools.
