State Republicans head to Duluth to recruit candidates

Minnesota Republicans are going to Democrat-leaning Duluth to seek candidates for statewide offices.

The GOP candidate recruitment committee meets Tuesday in Duluth. The group is looking for Republicans to run for attorney general, secretary of state and state auditor. All three statewide offices are currently occupied by Democrats.

Committee chairman Gregg Peppin says Republicans could win those races in 2010.

He says the committee wants advice from local Republicans about picking candidates who can appeal to voters in northern Minnesota.
