Grand jury deciding whether to charge Denny Hecker

A grand jury is trying to determine whether fallen auto magnate Denny Hecker should be charged with any crimes.

According to documents filed Tuesday in U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Hecker has asked a judge to delay a financial proceeding between himself and Chrysler Financial Services Americas until the grand jury concludes its proceedings.

Hecker, who owned two dozen auto dealerships and oversaw several corporations, filed for personal bankruptcy protection in June.

Several banks and auto companies have filed lawsuits against Hecker, but he has denied any criminal wrongdoing.
