Vikings quarterback Brett Favre will celebrate his 40th birthday tomorrow. That may not sound that old, but consider that the average age of an NFL player is a few months shy of 27.
Not that Favre has been showing his age much this season, with the Vikes still undefeated, but football can be a punishing game for an aging body.
Morning Edition host Cathy Wurzer talked about aging athletes with Dr. Vonda Wright. She's an orthopedic surgeon at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and she's the author of "Fitness after 40."
