President Abraham Lincoln never made it to Minnesota, but those who study him say his policies had a lasting effect on African-Americans and Dakota Indians in the state.
Two historians and a Dakota elder will discuss Lincoln's legacy on Tuesday in St. Paul.
The panel includes Minneapolis Public Schools Superintendent Bill Green, Dakota educator David Larsen and University of Minnesota professor emeritus Hy Berman.
The event is organized by the Minnesota Lincoln Bicentennial Commission and will be held at the Minnesota History Center.
