Two pilots have been suspended while Delta Airlines and federal officials investigate what happened during a flight earlier this week from San Diego to Minneapolis. The plane overshot the Twin Cities International Airport by 150 miles, reportedly because the flight crew was having a heating argument, although earlier reports indicated the pilots may have been asleep.
The pilots were at the controls of an Airbus jet with 144 passengers when air traffic controllers couldn't get the pilots on the radio for more than an hour.
MPR's Cathy Wurzer spoke with Bob Collins the writer of the Newscut blog at MPRNewsQ.org about the situation. Collins, also a private pilate, spoke to one of the passengers on board the flight.
