A woman who police said falsely reported seeing a man with a gun at Saint Paul College was using another woman's name to attend school, police said Friday.
The St. Paul City Attorney earlier this week charged Charleeta D. Brown with filing a false police report, but now police say it wasn't Brown who made the false report.
Instead, it was Vonda Kay Hill, 43, of St. Paul, police spokesman Sgt. Paul Schnell said. On Friday, Hill was in the Ramsey County jail awaiting charges on giving police a false name. Hill will also be charged with filing a false police report, Schnell said.
More than 40 police officers, including the St. Paul Police SWAT Team, responded to the report of a man with a gun at Saint Paul College on Sept. 23. Police evacuated and searched a building at the school but found nothing.

Police are investigating why Hill was using Brown's name, but Schnell said it appears Brown consented to it.
"Apparently Vonda wanted to go to school but was having a hard time getting access to school," Schnell said.
Investigators have more witnesses to interview, but Schnell said both women could face additional charges.
Brown contacted police after seeing her name in news reports and told them she doesn't attend Saint Paul College.
