A third Republican has entered the race for Congress in Minnesota's 1st District.
Jim Hagedorn of Blue Earth said he's running for the job because he's concerned about the future of the country. Hagedorn said President Obama and Democrats in Congress are spending too much money. He said DFL Congressman Tim Walz is out of touch with the district.
"I don't believe that in 2008 in that election that people were completely aware that Tim Walz was the most liberal congressman ever to represent southern Minnesota," Hagedorn said. "I think if they knew at the time that he would come out and vote for all of these Obama and Pelosi big spending and big government ways, they might have hesitated."
Hagedorn, whose father is former Congressman Tom Hagedorn, says he will abide by the Republican Party endorsement. State Rep. Randy Demmer and former state Senator Allen Quist are also seeking the GOP endorsement.
