Minnesota environmental groups are pushing Congress to approve federal money to clean up the Great Lakes and keep invasive species out.
They hold a state Capitol news conference Thursday to urge Congress to keep spending on a Great Lakes restoration program.
They want more money than President Barack Obama has recommended.
The groups include Environment Minnesota, Clean Water Action and Minnesota Environmental Partnership. A handful of Democratic state legislators will join them.
The groups say U.S. Sens. Amy Klobuchar and Al Franken support the bill.
