Oil coating the coast and animals in the Gulf of Mexico can be deadly. Scientists are still trying to determine how the BP spill and its clean-up efforts will affect marine life there in the short and long terms.
Makers of a Minnesota product say they already have an environmentally friendly way to clean up oil spills.
To tell us more about it, we called Bill Whiteside. He was involved in cleaning up Alaska's coastline after the Exxon Valdez oil spill and he is the principal distributor of A+ Absorbent, an oil absorbent material made from peat harvested from Minnesota's bogs.
