Gov. Tim Pawlenty has named former state Rep. Phil Krinkie, a Republican fiscal hawk, to the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities Board of Trustees.
The GOP governor's office announced the appointment of Krinkie and five others to the MnSCU board on Tuesday.
Krinkie served 16 years in the House, including a stint as the head of a capital investment panel that helped select public works projects including MnSCU buildings. He now heads the Taxpayers League of Minnesota.
Krinkie's term on the MnSCU board will run through June 2016.
