There will be no Brainerd vacation for fallen auto mogul Denny Hecker.
A federal magistrate judge ruled Wednesday that Hecker is a flight risk and denied his request to spend time at a friend's home in Brainerd.
Hecker argued he needed to spend "quality time" with his children and asked that he be allowed to travel outside the Twin Cities metro area. But U.S. District Court Magistrate Judge Susan Nelson says there's no reason he couldn't spend quality time with them at his Medina home.
Hecker faces trial in mid-October on federal fraud charges. He has pleaded not guilty.
Hecker was one of Minnesota's largest auto dealers before his empire collapsed.
