Police say a 12-year-old South St. Paul girl used Facebook to summon help during a sexual assault.
Authorities say the girl was home alone with her mother's ex-boyfriend early Saturday when he came into her room naked and tried to pull down her pants. She kicked and screamed and 42-year-old Raymond Ernest Cesmat left.
The criminal complaint says she then got on Facebook to see if she knew anyone online. She found a friend told her to call the victim's mother and tell her to come home.
The complaint alleges Cesmat came back and assaulted the girl. She eventually ran away and called her mom from a pay phone. The woman was already on the way thanks to the Facebook message.
Cesmat is charged with two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct. He's in the Dakota County Jail and unavailable for comment. It's not clear if he has an attorney.
