Outgoing Gov. Tim Pawlenty is turning over his "Veto Pen" to the Minnesota Historical Society.
Pawlenty gave the oversized pen - and the actual veto stamps he used - along with other documents and artifacts from his eight years as governor, to the Historical Society on Monday.
During his tenure, Pawlenty issued 299 complete bill and line-item vetoes.
In 2008, the Republican set a modern-day record for most bill vetoes issued in one year by a Minnesota governor.
