The installation of a large collection of solar panels atop the St. Paul RiverCentre is complete.
St. Paul Mayor Chris Coleman and U.S. Rep. Betty McCollum will showcase the panels at a news conference Friday. Attendees will be able to tour the installation.
The 144 panels were funded through a Department of Energy grant and matching funds from District Energy St. Paul. They will generate 1 megawatt of energy and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 900,000 pounds per year.
