As the town of Wadena marks the one-year anniversary of a devastating tornado, a new book preserves the stories of the survivors.
A book launch is set for Friday afternoon at the Wadena County Historical Society for "Twisted Together by an EF4."
The June 17 tornado tore a wide path and destroyed Wadena-Deer River High School. It was one of a record 48 tornadoes that hit Minnesota that day, killing three people, injuring dozens more and damaging hundreds of homes.
More than a dozen Wadena County residents, ages 12-80, worked with a journalist, a book designer and oral history experts to create the book, with support from the Minnesota Historical Society.
Proceeds from the book sales will benefit the local Disaster Relief Committee and the Wadena County Historical Society.
