Campaign officials for Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann declined to disclose the number in attendance at her downtown Minneapolis fundraiser Thursday evening or how much campaign money was raised.
The room at the Minneapolis Hilton where the event took place was set up for about 100 people. The asking price on the invitation ranged between $100 and $5,000. The fundraiser was closed to reporters.
In attendance, Dr. William Wood and his wife, Elise, of Minnetonka told MPR news they contributed $250 to attend. They were not discouraged by reports of Bachmann's low standing in the polls.
"The race is far from over at this point so I'm here to encourage her to continue doing what she's doing. She's a strong spokesman for our views," William Wood said.

Mark Bernick also attended. He declined to say how much he contributed.
"I want to support Michele Bachmann — she's one of the few individuals form Washington that I trust," Bernick said.
Bachmann scheduled a town meeting in Minnesota prior to the fundraiser, but the event was canceled.
Bachmann will campaign in Iowa this weekend.
