The first of two public hearings on financing a new Vikings stadium is scheduled for Tuesday morning. Senate Republicans called the hearings and say they hope to use them to determine how to move forward in negotiations.
This morning, key Senate committee members will hear testimony from Minneapolis and Arden Hills officials, the owners of the Metrodome and from the Vikings.
Over the weekend, the team took out newspaper ads proposing that tax revenues generated by the team and fan purchases could be used to pay the state's portion of a new stadium.
Sen. Julie Rosen is the lead author of stadium legislation in the senate. She'll be at the hearing and joined MPR's Cathy Wurzer to talk about the hearings.
