Locked-out American Crystal Sugar workers are gathering Wednesday evening for a prayer vigil in Moorhead.
North Dakota AFL-CIO President Gary Granzotto said he's asking local religious leaders to join the vigil.
Granzotto said he wants locked out workers to know it's okay to ask for help.
"They work hard and it is difficult for them to ask for help," he said. "I know there are a lot of needs that people are not asking for help. As this drags on they become more and more desperate."
Many unions across the country are sending financial assistance to the workers, Granzotto said.
But he said workers are under growing financial strain after four months without a paycheck.
Thursday is the annual shareholder's meeting for American Crystal Sugar.
