The Minnesota Wild is offering season ticket holders credit, plus interest, if games are canceled as a result of the National Hockey League's labor dispute. The NHL locked players out late Saturday after failing to reach an agreement on a new contract.
The Wild will let season ticket holders choose a refund for any canceled games or credit plus ten percent annual interest on the ticket value for canceled games, which can be used to buy tickets in the future.
Wild Chief Operating Officer Matt Majka hopes neither option will be necessary.
"We're hoping for a quick settlement. Both sides have said that they want to be playing hockey," Majka said. "I believe them when they say that, and so we're just going to hang tight here. It's only Sept. 17. If there were a quick settlement, we'd still play an entire hockey season at the moment."
The Wild's first pre-season home game is scheduled for a week from Wednesday. Its first regular season home game would be Oct. 13.
