The votes are in. Here are the winners and losers according to their stadium votes:
Senate "Yes" votes that got beaten: John Carlson (R), Bemidji; Joe Gimse (R), Willmar
Senate "No" votes that got beaten: Ted Daley (R), Eagan; John Howe (R), Red Wing; Benjamin Kruse (R), Brooklyn Park; Ted Lillie (R), Lake Elmo
House "Yes" votes that got beaten: Larry Howes (R), Walker; Rich Murray (R), Albert Lea; Bruce Vogel (R), Willmar
House "No" votes that got beaten: Diane Anderson (R), Eagan; King Banian (R), St. Cloud; Keith Downey (R), Edina (in Senate bid); Carolyn McElfatrick; Kirk Stensrud (R) Eden Prairie; Doug Wardlow (R), Eagan.
The lesson? Legislators left for a lot of reasons: retirements, redistricting, endorsement losses. But at the general election finish line, it was a bad day for Republicans. And a REALLY bad day for Republicans that voted against the Vikings stadium/Target Center deal.
