COLD SPRING, Minn. (AP) -- The funeral for a Cold Spring police officer killed in the line of duty is set for Wednesday.
Thirty-one-year-old Tom Decker was ambushed Thursday and shot twice while responding to a report of a suicidal man. He was married with two sons and two daughters.
His family on Saturday said the visitation would be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. John's Abbey and University Church in Collegeville.
The killing shocked residents of Cold Spring, a city of about 4,000 residents about 75 miles northwest of Minneapolis. Many became teary-eyed when reporters asked them about Decker.
The suspected shooter is 34-year-old Ryan Michael Larson of Cold Spring. He was arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder
