Minneapolis police say a boy playing with a gun apparently shot and killed a 2-year-old boy.
Officers responded to reports of a shooting in Minneapolis' Riverside neighborhood about 12:45 p.m. Wednesday. When police arrived they found the 2-year-old with a critical gunshot wound. He was loaded into an ambulance but died at the scene.
Minneapolis police spokesman Sgt. Stephen McCarty tells KARE-TV the child apparently was shot by another boy under the age of 5 who was playing with a gun. It's unclear where the gun came from, how the boy got his hands on it, and whether any adults were home at the time.
UPDATE: Minneapolis police spokesman Sgt. William Palmer said on Twitter that the child's parents were in the home at the time of the incident. He also said the child died in an ambulance at the scene. ---
