Governor Mark Dayton didn't just propose a budget on Tuesday, he also put forward an overhaul of the state's tax system. That includes a five hundred dollar property tax rebate for homeowners.
Dakota County Commissioner Kathleen Gaylord was the chair of a group that made recommendations to simplify Minnesota's property tax system. Those suggestions went to the Minnesota Legislature in November. Commissioner Gaylord talked with Morning Edition host Cathy Wurzer about the Governor's property tax proposal.
