Coleman raises more than $160,000 for campaign

St. Paul Mayor Chris Coleman has raised more than $160,000 for his re-election campaign this year, and has a hefty cash advantage over his challengers.

As Coleman heads into the final eight weeks of the campaign, he has nearly $140,000 at his disposal, according to newly released campaign finance reports.

Coleman's spending also eclipses his rivals. Since the end of January, the mayor's campaign has spent more than $80,000, including more than $20,000 on polling alone.

Challenger Tim Holden spent a total of $18,000 during that same period.  Unlike Coleman, Holden is funding his campaign almost entirely out of his own pocket. Holden received less than $1,200 in contributions.

The two other candidates who'll appear on the ballot -- Sharon Anderson and Kurt Dornfeld -- did not file campaign finance reports by the deadline.
