MNsure 'no longer vulnerable' to security issue

A security flaw on MNsure that left users vulnerable to a hacking device has been fixed, a Minnetonka computer security analyst said Tuesday.

The fix follows a meeting Monday between analyst Mark Lanterman and the state's chief information security officer Chris Buse. At the meeting, Lanterman explained how he discovered the flaw and how the state could resolve the problem.

Lanterman tested for the flaw again today. "I'm happy to report that MNsure is no longer vulnerable to this attack," he said.

The flaw allowed private data to come through unencrypted, leaving consumers' personal information vulnerable to an inexpensive hacking tool.
