Treadle Yard Goods in St. Paul has notified customers it will close within the next six months if it can't find a new owner.
The fabric store, which has stood on the corner of Grand and Hamline since 1976, has been searching for a buyer since the spring.
"While several individuals have expressed interest and explored the possibility of of a purchase, as of this writing, no one has been able to put together a viable proposal," owner Mary Daley told customers in a letter this week.
Daley said sales have slipped, and she needs to lighten her work load due to Parkinson's Disease. The letter mentions the potential of holding a "crowd funding campaign" to help save the store.
