Remember how they used to say it's "always 72 degrees inside" in the Metrodome? Not so much these days. Here's what the place looks like now, without its signature Teflon roofing. Hard to believe it was open like this just three years ago.
The cold has brought some of the work at the site to a halt, the Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority reports today. Workers in heated construction equipment or indoors are still on the job, but the weather is stopping other tasks.
That said, they're actually ripping into the structure this morning.
MSFA spokeswoman Jenn Hathaway reports that crews started to demolish the loading dock this morning, working their way toward the actual stadium. By the time the snow melts, the landmark bowl should be just about gone.
