Jon Hamm, the star of AMC’s hit TV series Mad Men, is scheduled to appear at a fundraiser for DFL Sen. Al Franken’s campaign.
Hamm, who plays the handsome, drunken, womanizing Don Draper on the show, will appear at a Mad Men themed fundraiser for Franken on Feb. 21 in Minneapolis. The event will be hosted by Sam and Sylvia Kaplan. A spokeswoman for Franken confirmed the details of the fundraiser.
Hamm is a Democrat who actively campaigned for other candidates in 2012. He made an early voting pitch to Colorado residents in 2012 on behalf of President Obama’s campaign. He also appeared at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, N.C., in 2012.
Franken has been known for his ability to raise money, especially from Hollywood celebrities. He currently leads the fundraising race that includes six Republicans and a member of the Independence Party.
