Construction crews poured the first "deck" of the new Vikings stadium today. The 277 cubic yard pour will be the top of the loading dock at the new stadium.

The Vikings also said that crews will start removing the turf at TCF Bank Stadium next week.
It's going to be replaced with a new heated field to keep the turf from freezing for the Vikings games later this year and next, the two years they'll be playing at the University of Minnesota's stadium. Other modifications include added storage space, heating for some stadium areas and concession improvements in the interior concourses. The Vikings are also installing temporary bleachers to accommodate an additional 2,000 fans, putting the seating capacity above 52,000.
