Krista Tippett, host of public radio show "On Being," joined nine other Americans at the White House Monday to receive the National Humanities Medal presented by President Barack Obama.
The judges said she "avoids easy answers, embracing complexity and inviting people of all faiths, no faith, and every background to join the conversation."
From the Pioneer Press:
Tippett, who lives in St. Paul, says she can "hardly believe it."
"The thing about this that feels so special is it's not something we asked for or applied for," she said. "It just came out of the blue as this lovely acknowledgement."
Tippett joins The Daily Circuit to talk about the work that garnered the award.
