Metro Transit says crews working through the night have repaired the Blue Line light rail line following a derailment on Saturday.
Officials think a northbound three-car train hit something on the track. The front car derailed and hit a pole along the track, knocking out power for the line. About 60 people were on the train, but none were injured. It was only the second derailment since the Blue Line opened in 2004.
Metro Transit crews worked through the weekend to restore the line, and buses shuttled passengers between the train stop at the Mall of America and the Minneapolis St. Paul International Airport's Humphrey Terminal.
A spokesman for the transit agency said that train service was restored all along the Blue Line just before 5 a.m. Monday.
