Army veteran, federal judge, U.S. senator and diplomat George Mitchell of Maine is out with a new memoir which he says he wrote in large part as a tribute to his parents. The child of a janitor and a mill worker in small town Maine, George Mitchell ended up as a leading figure on the national and international stage. He now worries that upward mobility is lost in America.

George Mitchell spoke May 12, 2015 at the JFK Presidential Library in Boston. Meghan O'Sullivan is the moderator. His memoir is titled, "The Negotiator: Reflections on an American Life."
