The Highway 169 bridge over Nine Mile Creek will be closed for a year starting in the fall of 2016 while it is being replaced.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation will also reconstruct 6 miles of pavement on Hwy. 169 between Highway 55 to just north of Highway 62.
Officials decided to fully close Hwy. 169 between Bren Road and 7th Street in Edina and consolidate several projects in order to keep the construction to one year rather than three.
The estimated project cost is between $72 million and $87 million.
MnDOT is holding a public meeting on the project at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Hopkins Center for the Arts.
