Minnesota health officials say the number of cases of Legionnaire's disease associated with an outbreak in Hopkins continues to grow.
The Minnesota Department of Health said Monday it has confirmed three additional cases. That brings the number of confirmed cases in people who live or work in Hopkins to 12.
The people in the three new cases range in age from their 20s to 80s. Two of them are hospitalized.
The state Health Department says it continues to investigate other possible cases. The investigation also continues into the source or sources of the disease.
Officials say cooling units on large buildings can be a source of the disease. Legionnaires' can cause pneumonia-like symptoms, including cough, shortness of breath, muscle aches, headaches and fever. The disease is not spread person-to-person.
