It was a great day for baseball in Alaska last night.

Yesterday, of course, was the summer solstice and the longest day of the year.

In Alaska, tradition requires playing the game in the midnight sun.

There's nothing better than sitting in the stands at a baseball game as the sun sets .... at 12:47 a.m.

3,531 fans showed up to watch the San Diego Waves beat the Alaska Gold Panners 4-to-2.

The teams play a doubleheader today.
