Former Minnesota Republican Gov. Arne Carlson gave voice to a growing social media movement to get Minnesota U.S. Sen. Al Franken to reconsider stepping down from the U.S. Senate.
Carlson says that Franken deserves due process before leaving his seat. But Franken seems unlikely to do so after a majority of his Democratic colleagues in the Senate called for him resign last week.
MPR News reporter Mark Zdechlik joined host Tom Weber to talk about Franken's options and the big decision Gov. Mark Dayton has to make about filling Franken's seat.
That decision is expected this week, though the governor's process is not completely clear.
