Heavy snow up north overnight
The heaviest snowfall zones favor western and northern Minnesota into early Friday. Snow, sleet and rain will be more intermittent from the Twin Cities south and east. The storm will gradually ease out of Minnesota Friday.

Wind and snow gradually ease across southern Minnesota as we move into Friday. Northern and western Minnesota picks up another 5 to 10 inches.

I can't remember the last time I saw a local emergency declared. The combination of wind damage and widespread power outages have created emergency conditions in Freeborn County, Minn. Here's an update from Minnesota Homeland Security and Emergency Management.
