For the second straight weekend, the Minnesota Department of Transportation says drivers in the southeast metro should prepare for major delays along Interstate 494.
Paving work is taking place between Interstate 35E and Minnesota Highway 62. Starting Friday night, the freeway will be reduced to two lanes westbound and just one lane eastbound.
Some ramps to and from eastbound I-494 also will close this weekend. All the closures are slated to wrap up before the Monday morning rush hour.
Drivers in Carver County may deal with some some hassles as eastbound U.S. Highway 212 near Cologne, Minn., closes starting Friday night through the weekend.
MnDOT says the closure comes as crews install two "reduced conflict intersections" along the highway near Cologne. They're aimed at reducing broad-side crashes where two county highways meet Highway 212.
The eastbound closure is set to wrap up ahead of the Monday morning rush hour. A detour will be in place.
MnDOT has its full list of metro and statewide construction road closures, with maps, posted on its website.
