Another round of freeway and ramp closures will be in effect in Minneapolis this weekend. Have your alternative route planned and a good podcast ready to go.
Both directions of Interstate 35W between Interstate 94 and Highway 280 will close starting at 10 p.m. Friday. And some ramps may close about an hour earlier.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation said the closure will last until early Monday morning as crews resurface parts of the freeway. Drivers will be detoured using Highway 280.
In addition, ramps from Highway 55 to westbound I-94, Third Street and Washington Avenue will be closed all weekend.

And MnDOT said northbound I-35W from Highway 62 to I-94 will close from 10 p.m. Friday through noon Saturday.
Bye, bye bridge
Southbound Interstate 35E will close at the I-35 split in Lino Lakes from 10 p.m. Friday to 10 a.m. Sunday.
MnDOT said the closure will let crews remove the old I-35W bridge across the freeway.
Southbound traffic heading from Forest Lake toward St. Paul will be detoured using I-35W, Highway 10 and Interstate 694.
